Seems to me like Paladin is the worst as there is only 1 paladin in the top 100. They are the most annoying class to deal with. Gunslinger can be another good choice, though you're squishy, you have plenty of mobility, and your range on snipe can help you get uptime on mechanics. Soulfist is a pretty challenging class to play optimally and the two builds require different skillsets to pilot so when I have the resources I'll definitely set-up a robust spirit gearset for fun. Picking an assassin to play is essentially picking 1/6 not 1/3.
